As the Content PM and Main Performance Director, the ₩2B (approx. $1.5M USD) National Heritage Media Art project, Tongjeyeong: Light of Peace, sponsored by the Cultural Heritage Administration and Tongyeong City. My primary role was to act as the 'Director-as-Architect,' translating the single, unifying narrative of 'Peace and Return' across the entire site. I oversaw content creation from initial storytelling and concept art to drafting the full planning proposal and storyboarding. I served as the central point of communication, managing the technical, design, and performance teams during production. This involved directing the holographic performance at Sebyeonggwan and even creating promotional visuals using Generative AI. The project successfully engaged over 130,000 visitors during its run, proving the viability of my narrative-driven systems at a massive public scale.
01. 평화의 은하수, 세병관 (Peace Galaxy, Sebyeonggwan) | Main Performance Director
#Holographic Multimedia Performance
The main performance zone, combining holograms, lighting, and live performance. It tells the story of the site's memory of war and wish for peace, following the journey of spirits and lions who gather dreams to light up Tongjeyeong.
02. 귀환의 문, 지과문 (Gate of Return, Jigwamun)
#Media Facade
A projection mapping show on the Jigwamun gate, visualizing its name ("put down the spears"). It depicts the procession of soldiers returning from war, laying down their weapons which turn into light, symbolizing the arrival of peace.
03. 결단의 시간, 운주당 (Hour of Decision, Unjudang)
#Interactive Game Experience
An interactive experience zone inside the Unjudang, once a war council hall. Visitors engage in a "strategy interaction" game on a floor map of light, where their decisions and collaborations shape the path forward.
04. 빛의 울림, 망일루와 계단 (Echo of Light, Mangillu and Stairs)
#Media Facade
A media bell-ringing performance at the Mangillu pavilion. The sound of the bell, combined with traditional music, symbolizes the end of war, comforts the souls of the soldiers, and announces the beginning of a new, peaceful era.
05. 수호의 바다, 통제영 출입로 (Sea of Protection, Entrance)
#Lighting
The immersive intro path. Using dynamic lighting and sound design that mimics rolling waves, this zone guides visitors from reality into the world of the media art, evoking the site's history as a "fortress of waves."
06. 염원의 공방, 12공방 (Workshop of Wishes, 12 Workshops)
#Media Facade #Animation
A zone dedicated to the artisans of Tongyeong. Using media art, shadows, and light, each of the 12 workshops tells the story of the craftsmen who once built weapons and now "build peace," allowing visitors to experience their narratives
07. 체험 프로그램 : 환대에 담긴 염원, 백화당 Experience Program: The Wish Contained in Hospitality, Baekhwadang
#Immersive Dining
Baekhwadang was once the reception room for the Tongjesa (Naval Commander) and a consultation space for the village. Now, reborn as a place to wish for everyone's peace and prosperity, it offers desserts (tarts/cookies), tables, and mother-of-pearl crafts that contain the wish for peace.
08. 맹세의 바다, 잔디마당 (Sea of Vows, Grass Field)
#Lighting #Sculpture
A photo zone reinterpreting the naval battles and valor of the soldiers, centered around majestic flags and ship structures. It symbolizes the sea, sky, and wind, allowing visitors to experience the history in a modern context.
09. 정화의 은하수, 후원 (Galaxy of Purification, Rear Garden)
#Lighting
A healing and finale space where wishes become light. Visitors can walk among subtle galaxy lighting and 'sky fish' illuminations (symbolizing peace), offering a moment of rest and reflection.
